Antique Eagle Cast Iron Fluting Machine

An exhilarating discovery and example of 19th century American ingenuity present this mechanical wonder for consideration. Seamstresses were relieved of manual crimping of ruffles and other fancy accountrements of their 19th C ladies' garments. The rock solid cast iron device is hand cranked through ribbed rollers to impress the ruffles, crinkles, and other fussy adornments needed for collars, cuffs, and more.

This example is undoubtedly early as it bears the patent date November 2, 1875 and the Eagle brand. The underside is stamped with the American Manufacturing Co.
