Alexander John Drysdale

Alexander John Drysdale (American, 1870 - 1934) was a prominent southern artist associated with Louisiana whose paintings extolled the beauty of the state's bayoux. His novel technique of diluting oil paints with kerosene allowed him to create hazy, dreamy landscapes much coveted for their silent beauties.
