A very nice vintage German beer stein decorated in relief with colorfully painted scene of 4 men drinking with 2 woman sitting across from them. Cobalt blue ground and pearlized gold enamels decorate the ground and borders of the stein. The dog eating by the men completes the scene. A twist handle supports the pewter top. Marked Germany, this stein dates to c. 1950/60. The verse around the base reads in English, At home it is beautiful.
