A lush garden of hand painted colorful flowers covers this antique Kashmiri cartouche shaped box. The vivid hues of red, green, and gold are as bright and fresh today as they were a century ago. The removeable lid opens to a black interior, and may have been intended for paper storage given its more than generous size and low profile
Our independent appraiser dates this Kashmiri box to first half of 20th C. but we believe that it could be as early as late 19th century c. 1880.
