This somewhat rare form is a teapot on stand with warmer used in the serving of tea. Manufactured by the highly regarded Arthur J. Stone Shop, it exhibits the fine traits for which his firm was justly famous while it operated from 1897 - 1937, and then after its sale to an employee, from 1937 - 1957.

The ovoid shaped body with a faceted surface, surmounted by a domed, hinged lid with knop finial, beneath an insulated handle, on an integrated stand with burner on sweeping supports, the whole on a circular base with four shaped feet.

The underside is marked Sterlling and uses the Stone mark of 1901 - 1937. The H initial is that of Arthur Hartwell who worked for Stone from 1909 - 1937.

Adding to the interest of the teapot is its provenance as the former property of Tom and Ann Cousins, the former whose company was a leading instrument in the reshaping of the Atlanta skyline during the the last quarter of the 20th C. Cousins contributions in the fields of real estate development, sports, and philanthropy earned him a  position as a heavyweight civic leader.
