Celia Calderon

Celia Calderon (1921 - 1969), was a Mexican artist who led woman's progress in the arts during the middle 20th C., achieving a number of firsts for women in Mexico. She studied internationally, first at the Slate School of Fine Art in London, and the Beijing Artists' Center. She taught watercolors, for which was critically regarded for her excellence, at Academy of San Carlos, but was accomplished in numerous visual arts such as print making, oils, xylography.
