Finders Keepers Brings Buyers and Sellers Together at Antiques Central

Antiques Central has introduced Finders Keepers, a new service designed to help collectors, dealers, decorators, and other buyers find antiques and collectibles they are actively seeking.

Its biggest advantage is simple: Finders Keepers keeps searching, even when you are not.

A user posts a wanted request describing the antique, collectible, or decorative object they hope to find. From there, Finders Keepers continuously looks for potential matches as new material becomes available.

There is no need to repeatedly run the same searches, check multiple marketplaces every day, or babysit a wanted listing.

Post what you are looking for, and Finders Keepers keeps looking while you sleep.

That can be especially valuable in the antiques world, where the right object may not be available today, tomorrow, or even next month. A rare piece can surface unexpectedly through a dealer, auction, estate, marketplace, or private seller. Finders Keepers is designed around that reality.

Wanted requests can cover an enormous range of material. A collector might be searching for a specific piece of American pottery, a particular silver pattern, a work by a certain artist, an antique toy, a replacement piece for a dinner service, or an unusual decorative object that rarely appears for sale.

Users can describe what they want, indicate a budget when appropriate, and include a photograph or example image to help define the search.

Once the request is submitted, the search does not end.

As potential matches are discovered, Finders Keepers can connect those opportunities back to the buyer, turning a one-time request into an ongoing search.

For collectors, this removes much of the repetitive work involved in hunting for difficult-to-find objects. Instead of constantly checking websites and trying the same search terms again and again, the buyer can create the request once and allow the system to continue looking.

For antiques dealers and sellers, the concept works in the opposite direction as well. Finders Keepers creates a pool of demonstrated buyer demand. When a dealer has an object that matches an existing wanted request, there may already be someone actively looking for it.

That makes Finders Keepers more than another classified listing service. It is intended to become a continuously operating connection between what buyers want and what the antiques market has available.

Finders Keepers is part of the broader Antiques Central platform, which is being developed to help collectors, dealers, and antiques-related businesses find one another more easily.

The service begins with a very old antiques-market question:

“Do you know where I can find one of these?”

Finders Keepers is designed to keep asking that question until a match appears.

Tell us what you want. Then go about your day. Finders Keepers will keep looking.

Antiques Central — Be found. Be connected.
