Johann Loetz Witwe
Johann Loetz Witwe was the one-time name of the Bohemian glass firm most commonly known as Loetz whose foundation begins in 1836 under a different name, and whose final days were in 1939 at the outset of World War 2. The company reached the apex of its creative and financial success during the Art Nouveau years when its glass won awards and accolades at various expositions, rivialing Tiffany, Galle, Daum, and other leading glass manufacturers. Loetz is best known for its Art Nouveau creations after which a slow decline and a couple of plant fires brought the demise of the firm.
