Cloth hardcover with title, author's last name, and publisher's imprint stamped in blue on the spine, and an illustrated paper label on the front board in blue, orange and red. Cream endpapers. Very good. The extremities are gently bumped and rubbed, and the spine is just a tiny bit rolled back. The book is clean, pages age toned, binding solid, some small losses on back cover, minor losses to the front cover.
Baum actually published this book prior to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and introduced some ideas and characters that he would eventually rework in future books.
