Overview
An authentic Tiffany Favrile iridescent cordial, also known among collectors as a toothpick form, executed in the refined Art Nouveau vocabulary that made Tiffany Studios internationally celebrated at the turn of the twentieth century. The compact beaker silhouette displays shifting bands of gold, lilac, violet, blue, and warm amber iridescence. Under changing light, the surface transitions from satin gold to cooler peacock and violet tones, illustrating the layered luminosity that distinguishes authentic Favrile production from later decorative iridescent glass.

The underside bears the hand-inscribed L.C.T. signature together with a work number, identifying the piece as originating from the Tiffany Studios workshop under the direction of Louis Comfort Tiffany. The softly flared lip, rounded lower body, and restrained proportions create a refined cabinet-scale object equally suitable for a serious glass collection, a curated bar setting, or an Art Nouveau interior.

Dating / Background
Louis Comfort Tiffany transformed American decorative arts through the development of Favrile glass in the 1890s. Unlike surface-coated iridescent wares, Favrile integrated color and iridescence directly into the body of the glass itself, producing a softer and more atmospheric glow. Tiffany's Favrile production achieved international acclaim after winning the Grand Prize at the 1900 Paris Exposition and remains among the defining achievements of American Art Nouveau glassmaking.

This cordial form is consistent with Tiffany production from approximately 1900-1915. The satin iridescence, engraved signature, and restrained organic silhouette align with documented examples from the mature Favrile years.

Why Collect
Collectors continue to pursue authentic Tiffany Favrile objects because they represent the intersection of American studio artistry, technical innovation, and luxury decorative arts. Smaller cabinet forms such as this cordial provide an accessible yet highly authentic entry into Tiffany collecting while retaining the same handcrafted surface character and artistic presence found in larger exhibition pieces. The compact scale also makes the object exceptionally versatile for display, whether grouped with other Favrile works or showcased individually beneath focused lighting where the iridescence becomes especially vivid.
