A spectacular large 3 liter German beer stein made by Gerz, of tapering cylindrical form depicting in relief a beer hall scene. Detailed action and vivid colors against cobalt blue ground make the scene pop. The twisted branch handle supports an ornate pewter top. Hand painted, this stein is of high quality and workmanship. Marked Germany with the Gerz backstamp.
The verse along the bottom reads in English, with dance and jokes the heart remains happy. The stein dates to mid 20th C.
