An exceptional painting of a woman in a blue dress and matching hat seated on a towel at the beach, holding what appears to be a letter. She is gazing intently away from the viewer. The gouache on paper is stylistically latter half of 19th C. but its author and date of composition are unknown. Mounted in an easel frame.
