A rare matching pair of French Sevres porcelain cuvette a fleurs, or jardinieres, of shaped form having scalloped rims with molded rocaille scroll handles with gilt turquoise glaze, the center with bucolic rural cartouches, different but complimentary, framed in fine gilding, while the opposite surface is exquisitely enameled with floral bouquets.
The underside bears the interlaced Ls of the restored French monarchy, dating to 1821.
These vessels were functionally used, hence our categorization under Functional Arts.
