Sevres

Sevres is a French porcelain manufacturer which succeeded in 1756 the predecessor firm at Vincennes founded in 1740. It was established to compete with other European porcelain manufacturers such as Meissen. Initially producing soft paste porcelain, the company introduced hard paste porcelain in 1770, though it continued the former until 1804.
