A whimsical painting by Dahlov Ipcar (American, 1917 - 2017) executed c. 1970, featuring a birds in and around a terra cotta flower pot blooming with lillies, leaves, and butterflies. Signed lower left.
Correspondence between the owner and Ms Ipcar's son Robert revealed that she recalled painting this gem around 1970 or 1971 and that she called it Bird in Pot or Bird and Pot. It has had one previous owner who bought it at that time.
